A TED Speaker's Perspective on 'Pen to Paper'

An Editor's perspective on 'Convenience'

I came across this poetry book last Fall in a second hand store. I picked it up not because it was cheap, although it was Half-Price-Fridays that day; a reason I justified for a visit. An item for inspiration, I hope, was all I needed for brain food that week. As I recall it was one of the first things I reached for and I was at the cashier within 5 minutes. I found what I came for.
Here’s the Preface penned by editor Roy J. Cook, back in 1958, almost 60 years ago. You know how there are chance encounters in life where you hear this “Ding” in your head upon meeting. This was one of mine. I did not know what to do except to own this piece of material. I could have just taken a picture and walked on. I am glad I didn’t. I paid $1.50 for a proof of a valuable perspective. For less than the price of a cup of designer coffee I was awaken to its stimulating power no caffeine could match that day. Come to think of it I was kept under its influence for a good 9 months, and still am. Maybe upon sharing I could finally release it from my mind knowing it is safely kept here.
Here is Cook’s perspective in a few simple paragraphs.
**********
If highways, steel and cement
were too fast for us then,
how far back into basics
for us to feel 'Whole' again?
Would re-defining 'convenience'
be an intentional start?
By choosing a Monogrammed Card,
& uncapping a Pen!
Did I find you,
or you found me?
Welcome.
You are now a part of Symphony!

Our Little Prince's perspective on 'saving 53 minutes'

Symphony's perspective on a new 'Currency'
July 31, 2016

"A pill to save you 53 minutes!"
A marketing pitch catchy enough for our Little Prince to 'LIKE' on his Facebook, 'RETWEET' on his Twitter, 'SAVE' on his Pinterest, 'SUBSCRIBE' on his YouTube, and 'SHARE' on his smart phone, spreading the excitement with his Rose on asteroid B-612 if he had the technology, right?
"I am looking for friends. What does 'tame' mean?" asked the little prince.
"It means to establish ties," replied the fox. "One can only understand the things one tames. Men have no more time to understand anything.'
And you'd say, but...
Time = Money
Money = Living
How about re-defining this old paradigm by a new currency?
Symphony proposes Heartbeats.
Let's do some Math today.
The smallest unit of time is a second.
We have 60 seconds in 1 minute.
The smallest unit of Life is a Heartbeat.
We have 60 heartbeats in 1 minute.
Therefore,
Heartbeat = Time
If,
Heartbeat = Time
Time = Money
Money = Living
Therefore,
Heartbeat = Time = Money = Living
Our New Paradigm:
Heartbeats = 'Time is Money' = Living
The wise fox let in on a secret.
"It is only with one's heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye."
If you have 53 (minutes) x 60 Heartbeats:
Pick up a card, any card, and start reconnecting.
Feel alive again with your 3180 wonderfully pulsating Heartbeats today!
Happy writing,
Teresa

As speculation holds, Symphony hopes Netflix is able to pick up The Little Prince after Paramount Pictures dropped him one week before his theatrical release in the US back in March 2016. Symphony is following on Twitter the movie's director, Mark Osborne, on the ETA of The Little Prince's landing in Canada.

A young Australian poet's perspective on 'Heartbeats'

A poem from a 21-year-old Australian poet
Erin Hanson is a young Australian girl of 21 who writes poetry at thepoeticunderground.com
I chanced upon Erin's poems on Pinterest about half a year ago. I created a board for her thought pondering poetry. At that time her signature was simply "-e.h" at the bottom of each poem. The first person that came to my mind was, of course, the famous writer Ernest Hemingway. Judging from how her poems were pinned by other users, I sure was not the only one making the same inaccurate assumption.
I diligently kept my board under 'e.h.' while went about confirming identities of these lovely poetry. As I read and re-read these poems over and over, these were definitely written from a girl's perspective, and not of a man.
My relieve came two months ago when Erin Hanson's name began to appear right and square with her poems. A humble start with 2 uncapitalized alphabets finally finding their well deserving places, in 'FULL', on her pages.
Her writing shows mileage, like a voice from an old Soul, personified thru a young girl's tongue.
You can find more of Erin's poems on Pinterest by her Pinterest handle @erinhanson23
